Hills Bakery
2000 years ago Jesus told his followers that they had to be willing to serve. Jesus put this instruction into action by washing the feet of his disciples - the task of the lowest servant. And ever since, for nearly 2000 years, during Holy Week, Christian leaders have tried to follow Jesus’ example (and to set their own) by washing people’s feet. Shining shoes is a modern twist on this tradition (and you don’t have to take your shoes and socks off)! As Jesus said ‘the first shall be last….those who lead must first serve.’ Volunteers required to help shine shoes or just pop along to Hills Bakery and support this community fund raising event.
